Sky Intruders
Identify what crossed your subframes, and hunt the hidden treasures in your images: quasars, galaxies, asteroids.
Work in progress
Overview
Streaks across your subframes? Sky Intruders does more than detect them: it identifies them. The script spots trails in a series of subframes (never touching your files), reconstructs the time and trajectory of each pass, then matches them against public orbital elements (TLE) to put a name on every intruder: that Starlink satellite at 02:13, the ISS at 03:40. Whatever matches no catalogued object gets classified: probable meteor, aircraft, or a more exotic candidate worth a second look. Everything lands in a logbook-style night report with your visitor statistics (pass counts, satellite families, personal records) and an exclusion list ready for stacking. And once your final image is plate-solved, the Treasure Hunt mode flips the logic: it digs through deep catalogues to reveal what you captured without knowing it: 17th-magnitude galaxies lurking in the background, quasars with their redshift and the age of their light, passing asteroids. As for the condemned subframes, the Trash to Art mode recycles them into artistic composites: star trails and the night's satellite choreography. Useful for grading, delightful to share.
Features
Trail detection
Spots trails across your subframe series with robust statistics, read-only: your files are never modified.
Named satellites
Matched against public orbital elements (TLE): every identified pass gets its name, time and trajectory through the field.
Meteors and unknowns
Whatever is not catalogued gets classified: probable meteor, aircraft, or a candidate worth a closer look.
Shareable night report
A logbook of your visitors with statistics and records, plus an exclusion list ready for stacking.
Treasure Hunt mode
On your plate-solved final image: faint galaxies, quasars (redshift and light age), asteroids. Everything you captured without knowing it, with zoomed thumbnails and an annotated treasure map.
Trash to Art mode
Your rejected subframes become a piece: an artistic star-trail composite, the night's satellite choreography, a poster of your intruders. Nothing wasted, everything shareable.
